Jacob Yikes

Limbo Land

This body of work touches on the state of uncertainty that one reaches when stuck between waking and dream life.

A state of consciousness that crosses over into the astral realm thought to be populated by angels, demons, and other immaterial beings.

These paintings speak of the emotion and terror one faces when the body is paralyzed in this state between waking reality and dream,

often referred to as dream paralysis.

Rebecca Stewart

Lush

In this latest body of work Rebecca Stewart integrates the symbolism of the garden of Eden, and the fall of Man, to explore themes of imperfection, sexuality and the dilemma of being conscious of our place in – yet detached from – the natural world.

Stewart has developed a distinct figurative sculptural practice characterised by a casting process that creates transparent figures embedded with natural flora and fauna.  “Lush”  has seen the emergence of these natural elements into ‘real’ space, creating an immersive experience, evocative and about open-ended conversations with their audience.
