This is a series about the body, described by it’s absence, through structures redundant in their emptiness.

Sourced from an online sales page, advertising property under $100 000 these works are literal snapshots of NZ; A peripheral niche – the ‘other-‘ of the current housing market.

Buildings wear their history and homes tell stories about people. In these images we get a glimpse into the lives of the dweller (or seller) with no closure. The fixtures, objects and implied textures depicted employ a visual language inherently of New Zealand, offering a kind of secondhand nostalgia.
