Rachael Dewhirsts practice focuses on engaging with the formal elements of image making and consists of a dialogue between the abstract and figurative. Her process of painting evolves in relationship to what is happening on the canvas and explores pattern and colour to create aesthetically engaging and challenging pictures. Dewhirst utilises a range of mediums, such as drawing and collage, to gather ideas for larger paintings.

Aveyron  la mer features a new series of which are a reflection of the artists journey in France from Aveyron to the Mediterranean Sea.
