“Based in christchurch, Liffey is continually inspired by Aotearoa, her adopted home. Through finely detailed depictions of flowers, insects, marine life and other animals, she creates new and intricate worlds of her own using varying backdrops and mediums. These worlds often reside inside of other images, such as within the skeleton of a larger animal. In this way, Liffey constructs moody, often dark, works of art that contemplate and unify life, death, and nature.”
