Anne Visser is a contemporary abstract painter based in Otautahi Christchurch. Her strong and colourful compositions often reveal specific details and sketched fragments, frequently from her voyages and life overseas. Raised and educated in Germany, intercontinental fusion of cultures, migration and travelling play a key role in her work process. Intuitive drawings and spontaneous marks are the basis for her paintings, combined with loose bold brushstrokes, that evolve to highly energetic works. The titles are often quirky and give a glimpse into the thought process during painting.
